BTSA Induction : Support Providers/Mentors

SIATech’s Beginning Support and Assessment (BTSA) Induction program allows participant teachers to engage in a strong formative assessment program while partnering with experienced teachers who are support providers. Support providers not only present an organized program of formative assessment, but also take on many roles such as mentors, peer coaches, and resource provider. Support providers can be seen as a friend to discuss a variety of ideas and thoughts.

Two instructors at SIATech’s Treasure Island site, Kevin Jacks and Chong Pang, have received their clear credentials through our program. Pang remarked, “The Induction program saved me time and money...as a new HS math teacher, I had a lot to learn: how to manage my class, learn the curriculum and planning lesson plans. The network of teachers and mentors provided support for me through this critical period.”
